What makes the Construction Workers Registry different from the other job sites?

To make the registry more useful and convenient for construction companies to use, we don't accept resumés by email; all resumés must be submitted using our online resumé form. This makes the resumé database searchable by username, location, qualifications, and experience so that employers don't need to sift through hundreds of resumés to find someone that fits their needs. The more convenient the service is for employers, the more likely they are to use it to find you.

The online resumé is tailored specifically for construction work, and includes relevant certificates and qualifications as well as fields in the construction industry. Most standard resumé items are also included.

No. We do not accept resumés by email, fax, or mail.
All resumés must be entered into the fields provided in the online resumé form.

Do you submit my resumé to construction employers?

No. We simply make your resumé available for employers to view.
Sending your resumé along with hundreds of others to an employer is unlikely to find you employment. It's more likely to end up in the trash, or be marked as spam. Some sites offer to send your resumé to thousands of employers. Be very cautious dealing with these websites! Some charge hundreds or even thousands of dollars for their services, and they do not guarantee that you'll be hired! Take the time to check the Better Business Bureau for reports before you spend any large amount of money anywhere on the internet.

Can I choose which employers to make my resumé available to?

Your resumé will be available to all employers in the industry field which you specify in the Desired Field area of your online resumé.
You cannot block individual employers from viewing your resumé.

Do you guarantee that I'll find work?

No. We guarantee only that your resumé will be available for employers to view. We have no control over who an employer will hire.

Do I have to remove my resumé when I find work?

No, resumé search results are ordered by most recently active account, so if you find work, simply stop logging into the system and your resumé will slip to the bottom of the search results.

How do I get my resumé at the top of an employer's search results?

Log in regularly. Search results are listed with the most recently accessed account first.

Can you find a job for me?

No. We're not a placement or employment agency - we have no control over who gets hired by whom.

If employers don't have to pay, couldn't anybody browse my resumé?

For the privacy of our members, we require employers to sign up and provide their company name and information before they can browse resumés.
True, it's less secure than requiring a credit card number, but it's much more convenient for employers, so your resumé gets seen by more of them.
