Why sign up at the Oilfield Workers Registry?
  • Post your resumé in our online database, where oilfield employers everywhere can quickly and easily access it at any time.
  • The Oilfield Workers Registry is completely free, making it a very cost effective job search tool.
  • Quickly and easily update your resumé as often as necessary. Always have your current resumé available to employers.
  • Employers can find a specific member's resumé by searching for their name or username. You'll also have a direct link to your resumé that you can provide to employers.

To make the registry more useful and convenient for oilfield companies to use, we don't accept resumés by email; all resumés must be submitted using our online resumé form. This makes the resumé database searchable by username, location, qualifications, and experience so that employers don't need to sift through hundreds of resumés to find someone that fits their needs. Once registered, oilfield employers have access to the contact information listed in the resumes and can contact potential new employees directly, there's no need to contact us. Companies can also add or remove job postings whenever they need to.
The registry is quick, easy, and free for employers to use... because the more convenient the service is for employers, the more likely they are to use it.

The online resumé is tailored specifically for oilfield work, both in the office and in the field. It includes relevant tickets and qualifications as well as fields in the oil industry. Most standard resumé items are also included.

How much does it cost?
Basic membership is completely free.

Can I submit my resumé by email?
No. We do not accept resumés by email, fax, or mail.
The resumé database is searchable, therefore all resumé information must be entered into the fields provided in the online resumé form.
This is basically a free service, and as such, we don't have the staff to enter your resumé into the database.
Resumés received by email will be deleted without review.

Do you submit my resumé to oilfield employers?
No. We simply make your resumé available for employers to view.
Sending your resumé along with hundreds of others to an employer is unlikely to find you employment. It's more likely to end up in the trash, or be marked as spam. Some sites offer to send your resumé to thousands of oilfield employers. Be very cautious dealing with these websites! Some charge hundreds or even thousands of dollars for their services, and they do not guarantee that you'll be hired! Take the time to at least check the Better Business Bureau for reports before you spend any large amount of money anywhere on the internet.

Can I choose which employers to make my resumé available to?
If your target job is a field position, your resumé will be available to all employers in the industry field which you specify in the Desired Field area of your online resumé. If your target job is an office or lab position, your resumé will be available to all companies that are registered with us.
You currently cannot block individual employers from viewing your resumé.

How do I reply to job postings?
Contact information is provided in each job posting. If an email address is provided by the employer, a link will be available in the job posting.
Employers may also offer more specific instructions to apply.

Our oilfield job posting board is completely free for oilfield companies and workers.

Do you guarantee that I'll find work?
No. We guarantee only that your resumé will be available for employers to view. We have no control over who an employer will hire.

Do I have to remove my resumé when I find work?
No. Most field work in the oil patch is temporary and quite seasonal in nature. When you find employment, you may be employed for anywhere from a week to a month or more before returning home; then you may wait for days, weeks, or months before being called back to work with the same company. We find it more beneficial to keep your resumé posting active at all times, allowing you to always be open to that better offer. If an employer is unable to contact you, they'll simply move on to the next resumé.
Also, resumé search results are ordered by most recently active account, so if you find work, simply stop logging into the system and your resumé will slip to the bottom of the search results.

Of course, office positions and higher level field positions are usually much more permanent in nature, and you may want to disable or completely remove your resumé from the database.

If you wish to remove your resumé from view, you can easily disable it without removing it from the database, either from the Members page or the Account Options page.
Or you can remove your resumé from the database at any time from the Account Options page.

How do I get my resumé at the top of an employer's search results?
Log in regularly. Search results are listed with the most recently accessed account first.

Can you find a job for me?
No. We're not a placement or employment agency - we have no control over who gets hired by whom.

If employers don't have to pay, couldn't anybody browse my resumé?
For the privacy of our members, we require employers to sign up and provide their company name and information before they can browse resumés. Occasionally though, scam artists do manage to create accounts and browse resumés. Always use caution and common sense when communicating with anyone online, and remember that NO legitimate company will EVER ask you to send money to them or anyone else.

If your browser blocks cookies, the website will send you back to the main page every time you try to login or access a members only page.
4.  If you created your account by filling the required fields with gibberish, your account has probably been deleted from our system.
